A leader with regard to regional cooperation issues, Bill is recognized for his ability to see the big picture and how each municipality, organization and community leader plays an important role in the future development of southeastern Wisconsin. If there are two words that define Ken, they are commitment and consistency. Ken has been with Ruekert/Mielke since 1984, and during that time has proven that leadership is a combination of those two words. "As the manager of the Kenosha office, and as an engineering supervisor, I have learned that you need to know when to be a leader, and when to guide those that want to lead. There has to be a willingness to help, but also a recognition that stepping back and allowing another person to handle the situation is in their best interest." Ken is a master at presenting information at public hearings so that ordinary citizens aren't intimidated by complex engineering projects. "The follow through is what makes or breaks a project. Ruekert/Mielke takes pride in making sure that projects result in successful outcomes."

Mike doesn't hesitate to say that problem solving is the most enjoyable part of his job. "Helping clients find solutions to problems, and helping our staff formulate those solutions is very exciting." Mike has been with Ruekert/Mielke since 1984, and has been an engineer for 35 years. Throughout this time he has helped numerous clients with major projects. Mike is an expert in stormwater management and flooding, and has become a hero to several communities for his efforts to reduce localized flooding. He has also advanced the careers of numerous employees through his quiet determination. "I like our employees and department heads to formulate their own solutions, but I'm always willing to step in and help out when help is needed. Problem solving is all about shared ideas and interactions with people. Ruekert/Mielke excels in this area."

Ken has been with Ruekert/Mielke almost twenty years. During that time he has seen the company grow from less than 40 employee to the 137 people that now work for the firm. Ken’s views on leadership within Ruekert/Mielke are straight forward. “Leadership is not "assigned" by the CEO or the Board of Directors. You lead by doing the right things, by being an example for someone else. Any well-known and respected leader did not demand leadership from others. They earned the right to be a leader by what they did, how they handled themselves, and how they treated others. Leadership is conveyed to you by those you lead.”

Jason considers leading by example and good communication the basis for success. Jason has recently been added to the Ruekert Mielke team as office manager in Madison. He has nearly 12 years of leadership experience with clients and staff in the Madison area. Jason knows that hard work and dedication to both clients and staff are the building blocks for strong relationships. “People expect a few key characteristics in a leader; professionalism, responsiveness and good communication which are among the most important, and there is no substitute.”  Jason has a reputation that matches, and his passion towards clients and staffs demonstrates it. This is what made Jason a good fit to lead the Madison office. “Building client relationships is more than just an activity from 8:00 to 5:00, it is being there for clients and staff at a moment’s notice to help.
