Municipal Streets and Roads
Your municipality's streets and roads roll out the welcome mat to residents, businesses, tourists and travelers. Make sure that your roads meet the needs of your community. Ruekert/Mielke has successfully completed design and construction of many local urban and rural transportation facilities. Services include planning, design, construction administration and construction review including resurfacing, reconstruction and streetscape improvements of existing streets and roadways. Ruekert/Mielke can help urbanize older roads and extend new transportation facilities into business parks and Tax Incremental Districts.
We offer assistance in performing the WISLR program administered by the WisDOT. We also make sure that any road programs your community has in place for this calendar year are reflected in the street ratings. Ruekert/Mielke assists numerous communities with their annual road programs, including the Towns of Merton, Ottawa, and Mukwonago, Cities of Oconomowoc and Greenfield, and the Villages of Merton, Eagle, and Mukwonago.
Ruekert/Mielke also works with communities on the establishment of railroad quiet zones. Local governments can either demonstrate that the lack of the horn does not pose a significant risk, or they can implement safety measures to reduce excess risk. Supplementary Safety Measures (SSM's) include a variety of street and crossing improvements. Our engineers have completed a quiet zone for the Village of Oconomowoc Lake, and are currently working on a quiet zone for the City of Oconomowoc.
