The Urban Nonpoint Source & Storm Water (UNPS&SW) Management Grant Program offers competitive grants to local governments for the control of pollution from diffuse urban sources that is carried by storm water runoff. Grants from the UNPS&SW Program reimburse costs of planning or construction projects controlling urban nonpoint source and storm water runoff pollution.
Application Deadline: Planning grant applications are due April 17, 2023. Construction and Planning grant applications are available every other year, on alternate years.
The Fund for Lake Michigan Grant Program supports organizations and communities committed to enhancing the Lake’s health through projects with both immediate and long-term benefits.
Application Deadline: Pre-proposals accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, grants decided quarterly.
This grant is available to all cities, villages, towns, tribes, and metropolitan sewerage districts. Assistance is provided with items such as: the acquisition of property, vacant land, structure removal, flood proofing, administrative support, and others.

Public Facilities Economic Development Grants are awarded to local governments for public infrastructure projects that support business expansion or retention.

The Surface Water Grants provide assistance to municipalities for river protection, local lake ordinance development, lake protection, lake management planning, and invasive species prevention and control.

Sustain Our Great Lakes is a public–private partnership designed to address these threats and improve the ecological health of the Great Lakes basin. Its mission is to sustain, restore, and protect fish, wildlife, and habitats in the basin by leveraging funding, building conservation capacity, and focusing partners and resources toward key ecological issues. The program achieves this mission, in part, by awarding grants for on-the-ground habitat restoration and enhancement.

The Targeted Runoff Management (TRM) Grant Program offers competitive grants for local governments for the control of pollution that comes from diffuse sources, also called “nonpoint source” (NPS) pollution. Grants from the TRM Program reimburse costs for agricultural or urban runoff management practices in targeted, critical geographic areas with surface water or groundwater quality concerns.

The Urban Rivers program aims to restore or preserve the character of urban riverways through the acquisition or development of land adjacent to rivers.

This program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage to households and businesses in eligible rural areas.

Wisconsin Coastal Management Program (WCMP) is dedicated to preserving and improving access to the natural and historic resources of Wisconsin's Great Lakes coasts. Since 1978, the program has worked cooperatively with state, local, and tribal government agencies and non-profit organizations to manage the ecological, economic, and aesthetic assets of the Great Lakes coastal areas.
